This program guides participants through the essentials of creating a pollinator-friendly lawn, including:
• Types of Alternative Lawns: Explore eco-friendly options beyond turfgrass.
• Pollinator Lawn Installation: Step-by-step guidance on preparing, planting, and maintaining your lawn.
• Ecological Benefits: Learn how pollinator lawns contribute to soil health, water conservation, and ecosystem resilience.
• Ground Cover Species & Host Plants: Discover native plants and companion species that attract and support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
• Maintenance Tips: Reduce inputs like water, fertilizer, and mowing while keeping your lawn healthy and beautiful.
• Transitioning Your Yard: Strategies for converting monoculture turf into a diverse, thriving landscape.


Bonus:
Attendees will receive a seed sample to overseed a 20 sq. ft. area of “bee lawn” and resources to help them get started. Once installed with a pollinator host plant, participants can register their lawn with Plant. Grow. Fly.
