The community is invited to join us in the Charles Gabus Memorial Tree Park for our third annual Sustainability Fair. The fair will highlight various resources available to the community as you begin or continue your sustainability journey. New for 2026: the library has partnered with the Walnut Creek Watershed Festival to bring you even more vendors and resources for sustainability!
Representatives include Blank Park Zoo, City of Clive, City of Johnston, City of Urbandale, City of Waukee, City of West Des Moines, City of Windsor Heights, Cultivate Local Food Connections, Digital Red, Electronic Asset Security, Good Neighbor Iowa, GreenIowa AmeriCorps, ICON Water Trails, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Iowa Family Gardens , Iowa Outdoor Products, Iowa Waste Exchange, Metro Waste Authority, Midamerican Energy, Neighborhood Finance Corporation, Pocket Prairies of Des Moines, Polk Soil & water Conservation District, Prairie Fire Restoration, The Rain Campaign, Ruralcity, reBorrowed, Sustainable Iowa Land Trust (SILT), Sustainable Urbandale, and Urbandale Water Utility.
- While you’re checking out all of the different booths, enjoy acoustic music from Vows and Vibes and popcorn from the Urbandale Lions Club.
- The first 100 visitors will receive Donna Kessler Seed Library tote OR custom seed mix from Pocket Prairies of Des Moines for attending!
