Event Details
Embark on a magical journey into the realm of fantasy! This exciting class will ignite your imagination and teach you techniques to bring your wildest dreams to life on paper. We’ll cover some essential drawing skills, from sketching and shading to perspective and composition, all while exploring the boundless world of mythical creatures, enchanted forests, and otherworldly landscapes. All skill levels are welcome!
Guest instructor Carissa Dannen has taught classes at the Des Moines Art Center and the Hoyt Sherman Theater.
Choose the session that works best for you:
- Ages 10-14 are encouraged to register for the 1:00 PM session
- Ages 13-17 are encouraged to register for the 2:30 PM session

Tween & Teen Programs Age Restrictions
This program is open to tweens and teens ages 10-17 only, and registration is strongly recommended, as each session has occupancy limits. (Teens and tweens who did not register will be admitted as walk-ins on the day of only if the class is not full.)
Please note that ages 10-14 and ages 13-17 are suggested age ranges for each session but as long as you are between the ages of 10-17 you can sign up for either time that works best for your schedule.
